Pupusas - Attempt 1
I loved eating cheese pupusas that Ken's mom used to get from her local Salvadorian restaurant - until it shut down. I decided to figure out how to make them myself. I remember looking up the ingredients long time ago, but when I finally decided to make it, I didn't have the two main ingredients for it - the cornmeal, masa; or the right kind of cheese. But I decided to wing it anyway.
It looked pretty close to the "real thing". But the taste was way off. The dough is all purpose flour, and the cheese some kind of latino white cheese (the label called it basket cheese). The cheese didnt melt the way it should in a pupusa. The end result didn't taste bad, but it was no pupusa.
I will try this again. Maybe this time I'll get all my ingredients first.
